ConeDesigner Version 1.3.1 in test

A version 1.3.1 of ConeDesigner should be available this evening (if everything does well).

The intersection between a cone and a plan is not a circle but an ellipse, so I’ve modified my computation code. The objective is to obtain input and output perimeters of the angled cone identical to the perimeters of the circles upstream and downstream.

Here the corrections and some new features:

  • Adjustment  of upstream and downstream perimeters to fit the diameter D1 and D2,
  • Improvement of precision in length of perimeters between sections,
  • New text files creation while creating the DXF files:
    • NOMFICHIER_Parameter.txt => Data from the GUI
    • NOMFICHIER_Si.txt => Data of section i

To do : improve input control for D1 must be greater than D2.

Cone with angles

Here is the last version of unfolding cones in test.

It should be integrated in ConeDesigner.

The input data:

  • Height = 200mm
  • Upper radius = 40mm
  • Lower radius = 60mm
  • Upper angle = -20°
  • Lower angle = 20°
  • Twist angle = 0° or 90°

The difference is that the -20° angle is twisted about 90° respect to the vertical “welding” joint.
