RPM Converter

New project coming.

I’ve developed an RPM converter to change the Yamaha ignition signal to 12V one.

The output is now compatible with modern electronic dashboard. The picture below is the prototype board working on my DTR200 bike for more than one year.

The new electronic board has just been tested on my TZR-250 track bike. This bike is a 2XT one so the CDI is similar to TDR-250 and R1Z-250. This will be tested on a TZR-250 European bike with 2MA CDI (same as 1KT). If this tested is OK then it should work on RZV500, RZ500, RD500LC, RZ350 and RD350LC. I’m confident as a prototype board as passed the test.

This board can be configured in 2 versions which create two types of output signal:

  • steady 12V which goes to 0V (blue curve) on ignition pulse (yellow curve)
  • steady 0V which goes to 12V (blue curve) on ignition pulse (yellow curve)
